A musozutsu style pipecase with a design of profusely scattered maple leaves in multiple lacquer techniques. Fabric pouch with gilt metal kanemono of shishi and peony.
Not much information is recorded about this lacquer artist, but stylistically he can be linked to Zeshin.
Signed in seal form on the inner section of the cover: Osai.
