Toyomasa - dragon netsuke

Tanba, circa 1820

A dragon clawing its way out a large egg, the irregular breaks in the shell revealing the twisting sinuous body of the fearsome beast, It snarls in frustration at the confined space it has so clearly outgrown. The two long, trailing whiskers are incised on the outside of the shell.
