Gessho

A wood netsuke of a smiling sarumawashi (monkey trainer) wearing a sleeveless jerkin and baggy trousers tucked into leggings, with a soft cloth hat on his head. Accoutrements of the performance are tucked into the back of his obi and he holds a wicker basket in one hand.
His co-presenter, the monkey, sits on his shoulder, hands clasped comically to his head.
