Seimin kurumi nut carving [SOLD]
Circa 1850
A kurumi nut carving depicting Tō Fujin, one of the Paragons of filial piety nursing her aged mother in law. Apperingas a goddess, Tō Fujin’s hair is adorned with a chrysanthemum shaped ornament in malachite with smaller blloms in mixed metal. A small mask of Okame and the himotoshi rings are in ivory.
