Rosetsu

Late 19th century

A woven rattan kiseruzutsu (pipe case) of muso-zutsu form, decorated with two arrows . One, of yanagi-ba form, is pierced with a design of a five-petalled cherry blossom, while a two-pronged karimata arrow rests casually across it.  A magatama, a good-luck talisman associated with Shintoism, rests next to them. Inlays in lacquered bamboo and stained stag antler.
