A laughing ningyo

Probably Nagoya, circa 1840

A laughing ningyo curts her tail towards her body

A laughing ningyo curls her tail around towards her body, the undulating tail fin fanning out against her chest. One hand grips the side of the fin, while the other rests on the muscular tail. Her parted lips reveal the upper row of teeth and her eyes are narrowed contentedly.
