Unsigned - tobacco pouch and wood netsuke
circa 1880
A tooled leather and fabric tobacco pouch and wood sashi netsuke in the shape of a bean pod. The leather has stylised foliate design, while the fabric is embroidered with wheels against a ground of purple knotted silk. The clasp is in the shape of an archaic fish, the metal tacks also serving as eyes.
