Ikeda Taishin kiseruzutsu

An unusual kiseruzutsu in the form of a petrified tree trunk, struck by lightning. Made of a twisting section of rootwood, the bolts of lightning are applied in gold lacquer.

The dramatic jagged lines that represent lightning are unleashed (along with thunder) by powerful gods who have their origins in Chinese culture and are, in some measure, a parody of the world of bureaucracy.
