Masanao - Wood netsuke of a cockerel

A finely detailed wood netsuke of a cockerel, its plump, pillowy body resting on the ground and resplendent plumage settled around it. The long feathers rise across its back tail and hackle feathers form a deep ruff at its neck. The fleshy comb stands proud on its head. The plumage of the underside its delineated with a stylised overlapping shell design formed by stippling.
