Hara Masatada

A rare miniature teppo (matchlock), the stock lacquered in black with a gold hiramakie design of karakusa, the upper side with a large aoi mon (hollyhock crest, like that of the Tokugawa clan) The barrel is of iron, carved with a design of two monkeys by a waterfall, details inlaid in gold. The mounts of silvered brass have a design of clouds, while ramrod, of wood ivory and iron, is signed Sadayoshi.
